There are also important Club Committee posts that need to be filled. Remember, WTC is a members club run by the members, for the members. Opt In to LTA Wimbledon Ballot by 17 Feb 2017

Members who have an LTA British Tennis Membership (BTM) number need to ‘OPT IN’ again this year to be eligible for the Club Wimbledon Draw which will be held in the Spring – date to be confirmed.

Why is it IMPORTANT? For 2 reasons:

  • Existing BTMs need to opt in otherwise they won’t be eligible to enter the Club Draw.
  • The number of BTMs who have opted in determines how many pairs of Wimbledon tickets the Club gets for our Club Draw. The greater the number of opted in BTMs, the more tickets we should get.

So please, if you have a BTM number, opt in via the LTA website before 17 FEBRUARY 2017.

New (or not so new) Committee Members!

For the first time in a few years, a member has stepped up to take on the role of Social Secretary! Fiona Roberts has kindly ‘volunteered’ – and it’s a welcome return, as Fiona has carried out the role in the past, so we’ll all look forward to a full and varied calendar of events for the year ahead.

Paul Butcher is also returning to be Tournament Secretary once more for 2016/17. Doubtless, he’ll be doing the rounds to get as many members to enter the club tournaments … in his own diplomatic way. How can anyone refuse!

We do have a NEW Committee Member – Leighton Davies is our new Men’s Captain. Leighton brings a wealth of top level tennis experience to the role, so it should be an exciting year for the men’s teams ahead.
