Neighbours Turn Out in Numbers to Support the Club

Yesterday, 6 July, was a hugely busy day at the club! Not only was the men’s first team playing and winning in the top division of Welsh tennis, there was an incredibly successful social tennis afternoon with a sumptuous tea as well as a neighbours’ event.

In the early evening, concerned neighbours from the local area came to the clubhouse to hear an update on the lease. They were told how the club had tried to reach an agreed position with the landlords to safeguard the community asset but that this had not been possible and that whilst we still hope to secure a deal directly with the landlords, we have had no choice but to begin formal legal proceedings to protect our position.

The many neighbours during the day heard that the next step is an EGM on 18 July to secure the authority required to spend the significant sums needed to go through the full court process. The mood of the neighbours was hugely supportive with many strong pledges to provide financial support and professional advice, free of charge, if required.

A hugely successful day!
